Two young Dals Rescued!

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 15, 2007

Thanks to so many wonderful people who were willing to drop what they were doing to help save these two, we were able to save them this morning. They are on their way to the vet as I type this. The prognosis is still very much up in the air as the female was exposed to parvo - a virus that can prove deadly. We'll give a complete update after the vet check. We can't thank Chris, Janet, Sharon & Mike and Kim enough for their help in this rescue.

Original Post:

Although these approximate 1.5 year old Dals were supposed to be killed already, the shelter manager has been pushing them to the side because they seem like such nice dogs. An emanciated liver boy and black & white female, both dumped in the "overnight box" outside a rural county in North Florida. Conditions at the shelter are deplorable...money is hard to come by there. And recently a case of parvo resulting in a puppy being put down. The female Dal can't get up real well but look at that precious face. And the skinny boy still wags his tail behind the bars of the cage.

We WILL NOT give up on these two young Dals without even trying. Dog Angel Chris D. is going tomorrow to take them to her vet. We will see if we can do whatever it takes to save them. If not, at least they will go in peace. We hope they can count on you too if they need you....update this weekend. Please hope for them.
