Merlin ... Working His Magic!

FIRST DRTB ADOPTION OF 2006 IS EXTRA SPECIAL ALL AROUND

Our very own favorite webmaster Rich, who brings DRTB stories to you and has done so much to help DRTB survive through the website, has expanded his family of three spots to four!

Having recently lost his beloved non-spotted rescued pal Sally (named after Sally Ride the astrounaut), Rich decided he had room to save another spots life. The highest tribute he could pay to Sally.

At the same time, DRTB received a call from Citrus County Animal Services that a timid 4 year old Dalmatian boy had just been turned in. His owners didn't want to bother to put up a fence at their new home even thought they had had the Dal since he was a pup. Like so many dogs that end up scared and frightened in the harsh, overcrowded conditions of shelters everywhere, Corki (now MERLIN...new life deserves a new name!) came down with a bad case of kennel cough shortly after going to live with Rich. With a whole lot of TLC from his new human Dad and spotted friends Oreo, Domino and Smokey, we feel certain that Merlin will pull through.

We bet Rich's house is probably beginning to look alot like a mini Spotted Dog Ranch. We'll all be waiting for pictures Rich!

We'd also like to add a very special thanks to Lee S., our now Super Foster Dad who was responsible for making this all happen. We are SOOOO very, very fortunate to have such a dedicated team of superstars devoted to these dogs. I thank each one of them every single day.

Merlin is pictured with his best pals, Dr. Bill Wicker and assistant Amanda Lagunes at Plant City Animal Hospital, who have worked round-the-clock to help Merlin fight off his kennel cough virus! It's been a long battle, but the prospects are looking good!!!
