Looks Like Smooth Sailing Ahead!

Susan-

Morgan (formerly Dylan) has come a long way since he first joined our family back in January...his crate has been put away, and he wanders the house at will, day and night. We've left him at home alone with the run of the house for several hours without incident...now if we can just teach him to pick up all of his toys when he's done playing, he'd be the perfect dog.

One of the first things that we did when Morgan came here to live was put the baby gate around the pool because he was making gestures that would indicate that the first chance he got, it would be time for a swim...the baby gate came down about 3 weeks ago, and we can't even coax him into the water.

We wish that we knew a little more about where and how he spent his first two years or so because he's terrified of rain, and the first drop of rain that hits the house, he crawls under the bed to hide. He's getting better, but the first time he hid in the middle of the night, he stayed under the bed until late the next afternoon! It's almost like he was left outside all the time, or perhaps was a stray during last year's hurricanes.

Well, that's about it...Morgan is doing very well, and is about 15 pounds heavier than when he moved in...he hasn't missed any meals as yet. We've hosted a dinner party, and a cook out with him roaming the house, and he's been a perfect gentleman. Bottom line is that Morgan has turned out to be a real keeper once we gave him a feeling of security, and taught him a few manners!

Regards,
Ginny, Jerry, and Morgan
