This is Patch!

Once in a while our foster homes fail the test of fostering. Problem is they get so attached to their entrusted furkid that they can't part with them when the time comes to find a new home. So THEY become the forever home which in the case of Patch is just fine with us.

Patch was originally found homeless in Tampa and had heartworms. His foster Mom Sam and Daughter Brandy helped him through the treatment. Then Patch was featured on Channel 8 as a "Pet of the Day" and a call came in immediately. Sam realized after telling the people just how wonderful he was that she just couldn't imagine their lives without him. So now Sam has a young spotted sister (also recently adopted - see Shadow) and a senior black lab sister for canine companions. Along with his humans his life is now happy and complete!

Foster homes are an extremely important part of what we do....we remain full at the sanctuary with care-for-life dogs most of the time now and can't save anymore without willing people to help on a temporary basis. Please call Susan at 813-926-5430 if you can give a needy Dal a temporary "spot" in your home - it truly is a matter of life or death.
