With Time Running out, DRTB is able to Save One!

Updated: July 1, 2007 Thanks to a host of wonderful Dal lovers, we were able to save Domanic - the 12 year old turned in by her uncaring owner. (We tried many times to contact the shelter about the 8 year old and were unsuccessful. We are so hoping that she found a home.) Vicky M., Pat H. and Chris C. all pitched in to run all the way to Orlando to "adopt" Domanic. Dale is fostering her and we were prepared to transport her all the way out to our Orcas Island Sanctuary. But because she is 12, nervous about riding in cars, has cataracts and a few other signs of aging, we made one last plea to keep this little cutie in Florida - her home state. And it worked!!!! The wonderful couple who adopted Blue from us in Tallahassee is willing to add Domanic to their pack of 3 other canines. We just need to make sure she is child friendly for when their grandchildren visit. The wheels are in the process to make this happen. And if not, she'll be on a special transport truck to live out her life with the other old spots with us. It warms our hearts to know that there are people who still care for these old guys. THANK YOU ALL.....we'll let everyone know the final outcome soon! Original Post: Two beautiful senior female Dalmatians need immediate help in order to be saved. We have no room in foster homes for care for life seniors. Please don't let these two be put to sleep before their rightful time. If anyone can save either of them, please contact the shelters immediately. Or better yet, just drive down as their time is quickly running out. Senior dogs make wonderful companions and are so easy to care for. Please consider giving one of these beautiful spotted ladies a chance.
