A Note of Thanks!
Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay is very lucky to have three monthly supporters who we'd
like to thank and recognize. LouAnne Moody & Chris Capkovic, Ilyse Robertson and
Sonya Martin (sponsor of Emily). With 21 dogs under our care right now
(17 being long-termers), it costs alot for monthly care. We very much appreciate all
of our supporters and thank you many times over for caring for those spots who
have no one else but us.

DRTB Off to a Fast Start in 2006!

Already this year, we have been able to save the lives of three more spotted dogs. One has been adopted, Merlin, who you will hear all about. The other two, one being the pretty 5 year old shown here, are being transported and cared for until we get them into a no-kill shelter where we have made arrangements for them.
Due to the number of Dals in foster right now that no one is adopting due to their age, we have to work out whatever we can to continue saving lives. Luckily, we have wonderful friends in high places. We work with them to get the dogs adopted...just need a place to house them.
Thanks to Sherry, Lee, Chris, LeeAnn, Rich and our friends at HSNP for helping start the new year off right.

Special Thanks:

Our Dals will be enjoying the hot summer in comfort this year with many, many heartfelt thanks (and 100 puppy mooches!) to Tara & Doug Bravata of Weichert Realtors in Clearwater. Due to the beating our shelter AC has taken in just one year, it needed a major overhaul in order to keep functioning. Without their generousity, we would have had to take money out of our constantly strained operating funds that only keep us going Day by Day.

In Rememberence of a loving father and friend who was a softie for strays ... especially his beloved Dalmatian "Dalton", donations have been made in Memory of Seymour L. Honig by his daughter Catherine Honig and family friend Ronald Lehman. We thank them for remembering the Dals who aren't lucky enough to have anyone who cares about them. The donations will go to make sure that at least one or two more homeless pups WILL!

IN THE NEWS:
MAX GETS SWEET JUSTICE: Some of you may remember the 2 year old mix that we recused last year who was beat so severly in the head with a hammer, his skull was cracked open. We have just found out the cruel person who did this had his day in court earlier this week. Although the case was won, there was little justice in it. Sadly as in most animal cruelty cases, no one would come forth as a witness to say they saw him beating the dog (although everyone heard it happening). He was only slapped with a $263 fine for failure to provide medical treatment to his animal. Hopefully, this man will have bad karma for many years to come.

The best revenge we feel we got for little Max was putting him in a perfect home with people who just say they can't love him enough. He's the dog they have always wished for and will never suffer abuse again. (Max will be featured in our 2006 DRTB calendar so you will get to see just how wonderful he lives now.)
