When the call came from Sumter County saying they had a large 7 year old Dalmatian that only had 3 days, we didn't ask how big. We just knew they said he was a gentle giant that had been turned in because his family wanted a new puppy - another out with the old, in with the new case of abandonment.
We also knew that a kind woman had called saying if we ever needed a temporary foster home for one that was about to be destroyed, she would step in. She kept her word, and Rocky's tranport began, sight unseen.
Wow...was all we could say. Rocky truly was a LARGE Dalmatian...all 105 lbs. of him. But as beautiful and calm as the night can be. He has settled quite well into his foster home and they are currently rethinking about their foster status becoming a permanent status. We'll keep you posted on the outcome!!!!
