DRTB'S DR. DOOLITTLE RESCUE TRAIN HEADS NORTH!   |
When Chris C. signed up to rescue two Dals from Miami-Dade Animal Control, he didn't know he'd be bringing a jeepload of dogs back! A Min Pin and a West Highland Terrier also tagged along. I called him to see how the ride was progressing and he said the male Dal was singing.....probably "Happy Days Are Here Again!" Here's what we know about the Dals so far......both were on their last days. Both were strays. Both appear to be about 3-5 years old. The boy is heartworm positive and will have to be treated. The female looks as if she might have been hit by a car and will need immediate medical attention so that we can determine the extent of her injuries. Both are very, very sweet. Thanks to a whole slew of people who made this rescue happen, they are both on their way to a better life! Pati, our sister rescue in Miami; Heidi's Legacy for getting them out of the shelter, Chris for transporting, Sherry & Pat for providing temporary quarantine for them, and Dale for fostering and caring for them until we can find homes. There were alot of very tense moments in this rescue when we didn't think we could find a quarantine place for both of them, but with all the wonderful people looking out for them, it always seems to work out.
