"22 and Counting"

Thanks again to the teamwork of our wonderful volunteers who we can always count on, we were able to save Sam.

Sam is a beautiful 3 year old purebred Dal whose owner no longer wanted the responsibility of caring for her. She was taken to a high-kill shelter and had no hope of getting out. Sam is very friendly with a non-stop wagging tail, was already spayed and is heartworm negative....a perfectly adoptable dog but due to be euthanized due to "no room at the inn".

Many hugs to Chris who picked her up and transported her to our vet for safe keeping while we were out of town. And to Merna who graciously agreed to pay for her boarding costs since we had no other options because of no foster home available since Sam has a bad case of kennel cough.

Sam is on her way to recovering from her cough and regaining her spirit due to being abandoned. She is now in the loving care of foster Mom Sherry along with little Dottie - our other adoptable "pint-sized" Dal.

Soon we hope that Sam and Dottie will join the other twenty Dals who have already found their way to a new life since the start of 2005 through DRTB. Thanks to the continued generousity of our contributors for helping make these happy endings possible!
